MAISON VERRE

A sculpted-glass atelier producing numbered editions and private commissions — furnace-worked, museum-placed, collected on four continents

The atelier

Nine people, one furnace, a converted 19th-century tannery on the canal. We keep the team small because glass punishes committees. Commissions begin with a site visit — we need to see the light your piece will live in. Then three studies in miniature, one chosen, and eight to fourteen weeks at the furnace. You are welcome at the final session; most collectors say it is the best theatre they have ever stood in.

Commission notes

What does a commission cost?

Editions range by scale; commissions are quoted after the site visit. The atelier works on a reserve-and-balance schedule — half at study approval, half at delivery.

How long is the current waitlist?

The ninth and final commission slot for this year closes in autumn. The next furnace calendar opens in January.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — pieces travel in museum crates with a courier who has done this for twenty years. Installation is included in Europe, quoted elsewhere.

Can I visit the furnace?

Collectors on the Register may attend open furnace sessions, held four times a year. The heat is real; dress accordingly.
